The pitcher plant [Latin name Nepenthes], like the one shown in the photo, uses a saliva like acid to digest insects that come its way.
The Atlanta Botanical Gardens has a large collection of pitcher plants and venus fly traps.
The gardens are located next to Piedmont Park near the Ansley Park neighborhood.
